In a landmark move that underscores its commitment to addressing the UK's housing shortage, Regis, alongside Blackstone, is proud to participate in a transformative partnership with Vistry Group, Leaf Living, and Sage Homes.
This collaboration, announced on November 9th, promises to deliver 2,900 mixed-tenure homes valued at a staggering £819 million and marks one of the largest housing transactions in recent years.
The agreement sees Regis playing a pivotal role in supporting the development of 1,522 units for the private rented sector through Leaf Living and 1,393 affordable homes through Sage Homes. These units will span 70 Vistry developments nationwide, with a strategic focus on affordability and diversity in housing solutions.
James Seppala, Head of Real Estate Europe for Blackstone, underlined the significance of public-private partnerships in this venture, stating:
“Public-private partnerships such as this are critical for addressing the undersupply of housing in the UK. Blackstone is proud to be one of the largest capital providers for affordable housing in the UK, and we are excited to expand our positive impact through this investment.”
The deal reinforces the strategic partnerships between these entities and aligns with Regis and Vistry’s shared objective to advance a partnerships-focused model. This model aims to pre-sell approximately 65% of all units, enhancing the predictability and stability of housing delivery.
Greg Fitzgerald, CEO of Vistry Group, highlighted the collaborative efforts:
"We have an excellent track record of working in partnership with Leaf and Sage to deliver new homes and I am extremely pleased to have reached an agreement to grow these relationships through this exciting, market-leading opportunity. Through our unique partnerships model, Vistry is maintaining the momentum of delivering much-needed affordable housing across the UK.”
The initiative will commence this year, with a significant portion of the homes expected to be completed within the next two years. It represents a strategic response to the critical demand for housing in the UK and sets a precedent for future large-scale housing developments.
Regis is enthusiastic about this partnership's future and its potential to foster long-term growth and community development. Through collaborative efforts like these, Regis continues to be at the forefront of innovative housing solutions, helping to shape sustainable communities across the UK.
