As of October 2023, Sage Homes, a key portfolio company of Regis and England’s largest provider of newly built affordable homes, has reported its accomplishments for the 2022 calendar year. The company proudly delivered a record 3,447 new homes, investing £525m to achieve this milestone. This achievement brought the total number of homes delivered by Sage Homes by the end of 2022 to 10,700, with a total home delivery commitment reaching 19,966.
In 2022, Sage Homes delivered 1,965 new affordable rented homes and 1,482 Shared Ownership properties, partnering with 233 local authorities. This effort positioned Sage Homes as England’s eighth-highest provider of homes for Social Rent.
The strategic developments in the operational aspects of Sage Homes were highlighted with the welcoming of the new Chief Operating Officer, Iain McPherson, who is set to focus on improving the quality of customers’ homes and increasing responsiveness in solving issues.
Alison Thain, OBE, Chair of Sage Homes, noted the significance of the year: "In 2022, we marked our fifth anniversary with a crucial turning point for us. In addition to being named England’s largest provider of newly built affordable homes for the second year running, we now have more occupied homes than in our construction pipeline. We’re keeping our promise to be a leader in this sector, and we have high ambitions for the future.”
Mark Sater, CEO of Sage Homes, reflected on the operational excellence: “As well as delivering a record number of new homes in 2022, we prioritised the quality of services we provide to our customers by increasingly taking direct responsibility to manage our customers’ homes. We revisited our purpose, mission and values to ensure we build a truly customer-centric company. We have also invested in our systems, which is crucial to ensure we provide a first-rate functional customer experience.”
Sage Homes has not only excelled in home deliveries but also demonstrated its commitment to its customers and the community. This year, the company launched the “Heart of Sage” fund to support local communities, established a specialist Financial Wellbeing Team, and provided more than £200,000 in financial support to ease cost-of-living pressures for customers. Additionally, a new Customer Care Centre was established in Northampton to enhance service responsiveness, further highlighting Sage Homes' dedication to its customers.
Regis is proud to support Sage Homes in these transformative efforts, furthering our commitment to addressing the housing shortage in the UK through strategic investments in affordable housing development.
